Here’s a comparative look at the type of websites claimed to have been visited in the past month by French-speaking Quebeckers and Canadians living in the rest of Canada.

The top five types of websites visited by Canadian adults 18+ are:

1. Search engines
2. Weather
3. News
4. Maps
5. Games

While maps and news sites are in the top five types among French Quebeckers, there are significant differences with the ROC.

• 29.9% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited a news website in the past month compared to 35.5% of Canadians living in the ROC.
• 29.9% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited a maps website in the past month compared to 39.4% of Canadians living in the ROC.

Other differences:

French-speaking Quebeckers are significantly more likely to say they’ve visited online classifieds sites, online dating sites, gambling sites, and adult entertainment sites.

• 23.7% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited an online classifieds website in the past month compared to 18.2% of Canadians living in the ROC.
• 7.5% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited an online dating site in the past month compared to 5.1% of Canadians living in the ROC.
• 6.8% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited a gambling site in the past month compared to 5.5% of Canadians living in the ROC.
• 14.1% of French-speaking Quebeckers claim to have visited an adult entertainment website in the past month compared to 12.1% of Canadians living in the ROC.

That is interesting , i thought more Quebecers would search about hockey but, porn sites is illegal so not much harm there but, gambling is an issue.
