On April 12th in Québec City, 400 foodies will gather at the Château Frontenac to spend the day at the Foodcamp - a day to learn, eat and share. There will be presentations by renowned chefs such as Jérôme Ferrer from Europea, Martin Juneau from Pastaga, and Anne Desjardins who will be presenting recipes featuring ACE Bakery products and some of the uniquely delicious artisans products ACE is supporting.
To complement the presentations and tastings, various artisans will be exhibiting their products such as Confiturerie Tigidou from l’Île d’Orléans and La Pincée.
It’s a unique event. While there are similar events elsewhere (there is a Foodcamp in Grenoble, France), to our knowledge there isn’t anything like it in the rest of Canada.
Here's a video of last year's event:
Quebeckers and gastronomy
We asked 3,000 Canadians if they agree with the statement “I have more discerning tastes in food than most people”. 42% of French-speaking Quebeckers agreed compared to 29% of Canadians in the rest of Canada.
It will be interesting to spend a day with 400 people who likely believe that they have more discerning tastes in food than most. We’ll make sure to report back on the experience.
